Four bicycles chained up to trailer after a 9 mile ride along disused railway line from Keswick to Threlkeld, then back via a stone circle where the views were stunning to say the least!
3 types of people seen in the Lake District…
1. All the gear and no idea – Seen plenty of these, whole familes kitted out in latest waterproofs, boots, leggings and rucksacks but they were walking down the wrong side of the road with traffic approaching from behind them.
2. No gear and no idea – Seen climbing to the top of Cat Bells ( another link here) near Keswick wearing jeans, wellington boots or even sandals.
3. Experienced and equiped – Correct gear for the conditions, may not be brand new or top of the range, but functional, knows how to use it as well (e.g. maps, compass, gps etc).
We are the third type.
