Its alive!

OK, so this is a bit of a dramatic title. My car has now been fixed, one head gasket replacement later, including head bolts, manifold gaskets, cam cover gasket and various other seals its now running fine. The oxygen sensor was only contaminated with water vapour, so once the gasket was fixed and the fault code cleared its working ok. So looks like I’ve been spared the expense of a very expensive sensor. Dealer price is £140+, 3rd party prices are about £80. it may be wise to change it anyway, or at least have one available just incase its starts to go. if it was oil contamination them the sensor would surely have had to have been replaced.

After doing over 60 miles in it since I’ev got it back, the old car seems fine.
