Looks like the quality controls at Sony have not been up to scratch in 2004. They have found a fault in power supply units manufactured between August and December 2004. Of the 2.3 million units sold thy have had about 4 problems in the US and 4 in Europe/Asia. As we have 2 of these units in the house, its was better to check them out and have them replaced. I ordered one last week and it turned up within a few days, second one has now been ordered. Since they don’t need proof of purchase, what is to stop people ordering extra ones? Now thats an idea, would mean I could use a PS2 downstairs without having to remove the power supply unit from the wall each time (they are stuck to the wall with double sided tape).
